Omni Production Update #1

As this is a preorder, we’ve got some time until the skates are ready to ship. I’ll be keeping you updated on how things are going with production and be here to answer any questions or make changes you might need.

Production

We’ve confirmed the order quantities and the factory is purchasing the material. They’ve told us that they’ll expedite our order and once I have a schedule I’ll let you know when to expect the skates. It’s hard to predict with so many moving parts but they’re great at what they do so I’m feeling confident.

Buckles

After sharing the Omni we heard a lot of feedback about the riveting of buckles on the cuffs. The goal was to limit the sound and prevent them from loosening which could result in breakage. But we’ve decided it’s better to deal with potential loose bolts than have a buckle break without a way to replace it. So they’ll be changing to screwing the buckles to the boots instead of rivets.

This change might mean a slight delay in production as they’ll be updating the cuff molds to fit the hardware, but they say it shouldn’t. We heard you loud and clear and it’s a good change, so please keep the feedback coming once you get your skates so we can continue to improve.

Sizing

I want to make sure everyone ordered the correct boot. By giving you all our sizing information, I fear we may have over complicated things. So here’s the easy to understand chart.

Using our Comfort liners, this is the sizing we recommended:

Small - 26.1cm - US 6/7 - EU 39/40

Medium - 27.2cm - US 8/9 - EU 41/42

Large - 28.5cm - US 10/10.5 - EU 43/44

X-Large - 30.0cm - US 11/12 - EU 45/46

If you bought shell only and plan to use Intuitions (premium or v2 ideally), you can squeeze in an extra 4mm or so in foot length as they’re thinner than our liners. So a Medium Omni recommended for 27.2cm feet would be 27.6cm with Intuitions. But feet are weird, so your mileage may vary.

If you need to make a sizing change, please let me know. We want to make sure everyone fits their skates properly. After the skates arrive we’re happy to do swaps if you keep them mint, but you’ll need to pay for shipping one way. So take this time to step on a ruler and confirm your size, and let me know if you need any help.

Pins

We announced that we’re doing a limited run of enamel pins to celebrate our launch and that preorders would get a complimentary set of the 5 pins. The order was placed today for those pins and I expect to have them at the end of the month. Depending on timing we’ll either put them in the box with your order or mail them out early. Stay tuned.

Soft Goods

The order for t shaped shirts has been placed as well and should be here end of the month. We’ll be shipping those as soon as they arrive, hopefully with pins if the schedules line up.
